With conditions worsening for both Kiva’s camp and the incumbents, Young uses Kiva’s demand for medical supplies as a ruse to strike at her team. But as he does, the ship’s systems fail again, the plan goes haywire, and Kiva, in a rage at being betrayed, kills one of the hostages.

A steamy scene between James and Scott unfolds, but ends abruptly, and Scott tries to leave. Throwing herself between him and the door, James demands he choose: Her, or Chloe. He tries to push past her, but she blocks him, until finally the struggle gets so intense that she brings a lantern crashing down on his head. He drops to the floor, bleeding.

Gradually, we realize that the scene is merely a memory that Rush is reliving – in reality, Rush has strapped himself into the chair that will download Destiny’s information into his brain.
